    Projects:

    • Leading and managing EPL (enterprise lifecycle) projects through concept, design, build, and deployment. All of these initiatives interface with multiple departments and require strong insight into the business strategies.
    • Informing the organization and C-level executives of new Internet and media trends, such as Web 3.0 and RIAs (rich Internet applications).
    • Managing the SEO initiative and acting as a thought leader for the entire organization in overall search engine engagement.

    Achievements:

    • Chosen to lead AutoTrader.com’s New Car, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and Mobile initiatives. These projects are tasked with generating over 20 million dollars in new yearly revenue.
    • Doubled the amount of indexed ATC (AutoTrader.com) pages within 6 months. Achieved multiple #1 overall and page 1 rankings for many keyword phrases such as ‘sell a car’, ‘used Acura TSX Atlanta’, and ‘certified pre-owned car’.


Manager, Classified Advertising Projects

  • Continued the previous role and accepted additional responsibilities of managing new enterprise projects and a team of two.

    Projects:

    • Lead an award-winning development team focusing on classified web applications. Managed a team of two that garnered industry wide recognition and contributed directly to over 1.5 million dollars in new revenue for 2005.
    • Managed the install, design, and construction of Web Order Entry for The Grand Junction Sentinel. This product allows users to place ads in both the print and online product. WOE also offers a variety of custom upsells to drive additional revenue.
    • Created new features and products for our community sites to monetize. Many of these sites face local competitive pressures. In the Waco, TX market, our expedited site enhancements drove their competition out of business.

    Achievements:

    • 1st place winner for Best Automotive Strategy by the Newspaper Associate of America for a paper with circulation under 50,000 for Wacotribcars.com.
    • Lead a team responsible for all online classified general merchandise and automotive sites for the entire Cox Newspapers chain.

  • This role was created for me and was the first venture for COXnet into online advertising construction/support for our newspapers.

    Projects:

    • Acted as the primary online advertising consultant to Cox Newspapers. As this role continued to grow, I received many more projects. We reached a point in which we had to expand to support the demand.  
    • Lead the implementation of the Morris classifieds system for 13 newspapers across the country. Successful implementation led to over 1 million dollars in additional revenue. This product release was featured as a success story on the Morris web site in November 2004 as an example of a large enterprise benefiting from the use of Morris technology.

    Achievements:

    • Lead and managed all internal COXnet processes that facilitated a Merchandise classified upgrade for our 4 metro papers. These new site launches have brought in over $500,000 dollars in new revenue for the 4 sites combined. New upsell opportunities and increased functionality lead to this revenue increase.
    • The success of the online initiatives for the community websites encouraged over 5 newspapers to hire staff dedicated to working on their classified websites.
